I am trying to research the history of my father's family. Apparently he was an orphan. He was JOHN PRICE WILLIAMS and was a major in the Army (East Lancs Regiment). His father was JOHN
WILLIAMS and his mother DINAH EVEREST. They were married 2 January 1900 when he was 25 and she was 27. His father was JOHN PRICE WILLIAMS ,a Stationmaster and his address was Wembley. Her father was WILLIAM EVEREST, a Labourer and they were from Half Yoke (?). They were married atSt Michaels Church Maidstone. Both apparently died in the influenza epidemic at the beginning of the 20th century. My father also has a sister who died young and was brought up by an uncle until he joined the army aged 16 or younger as a drummer boy in the WW1. He was also known as Bill or Jack. There was talk of his paternal great grandfather owning a brewery in Wales. Any information would be gratefully received. |
