I am looking for information on a Ronald Edward Davies, who was born on, or about, March 8, 1908, in (or near) Beckinham, Kent (now south-east London). Additionally, I am interested in anything to do with his siblings or parents. Family history indicates he was christened in St. David's Church in Beckinham.
Mr. Davies is supposed to have enlisted in the British Army (Grenadier Guards) in, or about, the 1924-1925 time period, from which he is reported to have deserted. He apparently traveled to Canada by ship in late 1926.
Any specific knowledge on Mr. Davies or his family, or advice on where to search in the UK for this information, would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Members of the Luce family moved in the 1600's from the United Kingdom to Massachusetts, and possibly other places in the USA, and to early Canada.
We have just formed the Luce Surname Y-DNA Project. One goal of this project is to determine if Henry Luce is descended from any of the Luce's of the U.K., Jersey & early Canada.
A simple DNA test comparing known male descendants of Henry Luce's DNA to male U.K. Luce's will establish the relationship! This is our website: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/luce/lusesurnamednaproject/
Most persons in the US, of this surname, tracing back to the 17th century in the US, find they are descended from HENRY LUCE and wife REMEMBER LITCHFIELD of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.
The first record we have of HENRY is on November 13, 1666, when he was a juror in Scituate, where he may have resided, and in 1668 he was admitted as a proprietor of purchased lands in Rehoboth. The similarity of the name to LEWIS, together with the varieties of spelling both names in early records, renders identification difficult. LEWIS was written LUIS, LUICE, LEWES; and LUCE appears as LEWS, LEWSE, LUICE and LUSE. When he came to the Vineyard, or through what connection, is not known, but he had acquired before Feb. 1, 1671, a home lot on the west side of Old Mill river about forty rods north of Scotchman's Bridge road.
Should you decide to join this project the only cost is for the DNA test, with a group price reduction.
