| I am trying to trace my birth father - I believe his name is Stephen Smith and he came from the Lanarkshire area, possibly Wishaw, Motherwell or Shotts. I think he worked in Smiths Clock Factory in Lanarkshire, and this is where he met my birth mother - Ellen Plunkett. I was born in 1972 and adopted in the same year. Looking for William Smith, born around 1930 who worked as a bar manager at the Black Bull Hotel, Milngavie, in the late 1950s to early 1960s. He stayed in the staff dormitory there. I believe he had a brother called Vincent who lived in the Maryhill area of Glasgow and used to visit the Black Bull sometimes. We heard William had gone off to work in Ireland in the early to mid-sixties. He was tall - about 6ft 4ins, brownish straight hair, well-built, blue eyes.
Would be delighted with any info anyone can add. |

| i am cousin to june and muriel who were twin girls born in 1947. there names were changed when adopted one to elsabeth i think. there dad was a butcher george marlin. mother annie higgins a cloth weaver. any information on these ladies would be greatly appreciated. i have never met them or know much more information about them. love to hear from you both if possible |

The only information i have is that she was born on the 19th november 1945 in rottenrow maternity hospital she was named margaret hamilton she was given to foster carers when she was 15 days old her adoption went through on the the 9th february 1946 my mothers adopted name is irene margaret millin. if any one can help please do all we know is the surname hamilton. thank you |
