PLENDERLEITH/STEEL - Kelso early 1900's. I am looking for descendants of Charles Plenderleith & Christina Steel who married some time before 1909 and lived in KELSO, probably on East Bowmont Street. Christina Steel was the sister of my grandfather, John George Steel b 1883 who emigrated to America in 1901. Their mother died 1924 and the two surviving children (younger brother Thomas James Steel was killed in action, World War I 1917) inherited houses on East Bowmont Street. I have a letter from Aunt Tina dated March 1928 (year is difficult to read) informing my grandparents of the death of her husband, Charlie. There is also a letter dated Dec 1974 informing us of the death of Aunt Tina in October 1974.

I am eager to find any descendants of this family - I have found a photo of the 3 Steel children taken in Berwick Upon Tweed probably 1890's and would love to share...

LaVerne
