I have recently started researching my mother's family tree. I have made some progress, but have hit a dead end with her fateher's parents. I am looking for information on Alexander Earnest MacDougall, possibly from Saltcoat Scotland, His wife was Margaret May cumming/Cummings. She was born in Guysboro NS. They lived in Truro, NS. My grandfather was adopted and his name was Donald Cyril Macdougall. I know I have very little information to go on but if anyone can help, it will be apreciated.

Thanks
Brian Chiasson

Jean Hammond (McKellar) LONDON, ON CANADA Jan 14, 2001
I am looking for the ancestors of my ggrandfather Duncan McKellar buried here in Canada. His tomstone reads "native of Argyllshire, Scotland, died 1908-age 76 years" which means he was born in 1831 or 1832, although the Ontario cenus of 1871 lists his age as 35. His wife was Anne McArthur, daughter of Janet (McDonald) McArthur born in Lairg, Scotland 1817 and Donald McArthur born Arygllshire, Scotland 1818 (both of whom immigrated to Canada). One of my relatives feel his father's name was Malcolm (but do not know his mother's name), and that they originated from the area of the present Glassary Parish. I also have information showing his parents as John McKellar and Mary McArthur with Duncan's birthdate as May 2, 1831. Cemetery and geneology records here in Canada do not disclose his parents' names. Is there any one who resides in the Glassary/Kilmartin area of Scotland related to the McKellar family who might have some geneoloy on the McKellar families - hopefully my ggrangfather.Thank you.
