Hello anyone
Seeking a Jones connection in Canada.
My Greatgrandfather was a LLewellyn Jones who lived in Worsborough near Barnsley in Yorkshire, however he was born in Brymbo near Wreham in Wales. He had two brothers; Frederick & William one or both of who are alleged to have emigrated to Canada,
My Grandmother used to write to someone in Canada so it has a ring of truth.
I would love to make the connection if there is one.
Thanks for looking

Hello there
Thanks for reading my message.
I am trying to trace a Welsh arm of my family tree and am looking for any information on an Evan Jones born in Mared (I cannot read the census properly) c. 1830?, Sarah Jones, his wife born in Ruthin c. 1834 & their family. They lived in Brymbo near Wrexham in 1861. They had four children Frederick, William, LLewellyn and Sarah (who died). Any information on any of these very welcome as I am at a dead end!
Thanks

I am trying to find information on the historical background of the Welsh ballad Yr Eneth Gadd Ei Gwrthod / The Rejected Maiden. After almost 140 years, it appears probable to prove that the tragic heroine of the ballad, Miss Jane Williams, employed as a cook in Chester, native of Cynwyd, Merionethshire, did not commit suicide, after all, but was the victim of an accident.
Any help appreciated. |

I would like to find the beginnings of my Powell Family. The website for the info on the Lewis R. Powell family can be found on this webpage: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gahall/ under photo albums.
I am looking for a family that had at least 2 sons, a Pressly Powell, born in Virginia USA 1787, and his brother Lewis R. Powell born in Virginia USA, 1792. The Family History, says that they came from Wales, but we do not know when. Would like to know if there are any Pressli or Pressly or Pressley Powells in Wales anywhere, because this first name is used in about 5 or 6 generations in this family line of Powells. We are also in the Powell DNA Project, and are in the Haplogroup K2, which are 8% of the population of the world, so if you are a Powell and are a K2, or a Sizemore, you might be a cousin to this family. I would so like to find out where the first name of Pressly came from in Wales. Would appreciate any and all info. about this family. Have heard that we might be from Breconshire, but have no valid info on this. Will answer any and all emails. Am thanking you in advance.
