Cathy Manly Sockol Florida, USA Aug 01, 2003
After much consideration and extensive research, a few of us have decided to start a Manley/Manly DNA Family Tree.

This DNA tree uses the males of the paternal line, checking 12 specific markers to determine genetic ancestry. This test is ONLY for genealogical purposes.

With the constant struggle to determine which (if any) of the "Colonial" branches link to one another and where in the UK (England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland) they originated we agree this is the solution. The markers determine the presence of a common ancestor.

At this point we have one Manley who is a descendant of the Poulton, Cheshire, England Manleys participating. Other lines represented are Fermanagh, Ireland and Cheshire, England and my line traced back to the 1600s in Maryland, US.

The test results (the surname itself and markers) are the only thing made available to others, through the site Family Tree DNA @ http://www.familytreedna.com/surname.asp

We are seeking a male descendant of the Denbighshire, Wales Manley family who might be interested in participating in the project.

We have a site @ http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~chatsol/ with more specific information on the project & testing process at the Family Tree DNA site.

We truely believe this will hold the key to unlocking the mystery of the relationships of our family lines, where they originated and where they migrated to.

Sherry (Price) Balow PRICE in California USA Jul 24, 2003
PRICE surname...My information ends with the story of my Price family roots tracing to WALES. Family history has WILLIAM DAVID PRICE/ DAVID WILLIAM PRICE/ DAVID PRICE/ WILLIAM PRICE leaving Wales in the early (1700-1730's ??), settling in what was later to become WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA. He was married, his wife also coming from WALES. They had at least one son, WILLIAM PRICE/DAVID PRICE (it's likely DAVID here, however, it's the last David listed so I'm not ruling out that he was WILLIAM or even ?), but then the first PRICE to America perished at sea on a trip back to Wales---possibly about mid 1700's or ?? This WILLIAM/DAVID's children included WILLIAM PRICE, (my 4th great-grandfather) born June 7, 1763. Also, possibly born to this family were A GIRL, (she ultimately married a man named ELLIS SMITH at or near Wheeling, WV) about 1770/1780 and two sons NATHAN PRICE and GEORGE PRICE, likely born between 1750-1765. These names, WILLIAM, NATHAN and GEORGE, could provide clues as to who this family traces to in WALES. ANY HELP APPRECIATED as this brick wall seems a permanent roadblock!! e-mail me: balowmsg@earthlink.net THANKS

Does anyone have any information about the family of John Williams and Anne Williams (nee Thomas) of Llandegai, Anglesey. He was born 1806 and Anne circa 1808. They were married in September 1826 at the parish church of Llandegai. Any information regarding their ancestors would be welcome.
