I am a police Sergeant in So. California and would like to help my dad in tracing his heritage. My dad is Gordon McDowell and he grew up in Workington, England. His Grandfather also grew up in the Workington area and his name was James Ostel or Ostle. Any internet connections or suggestion to start a search would be appreciated. My mom and dad never returned to the UK but always talk about going back "someday" :) Thanks!
