I am searching for the parents of my Great Grandfather,Abraham Braybrook born in 1813 at Kelvedon or possibly Inworth area.
Abraham was transported to Australia in 1834 after he was sentenced to Death for the theft of 6 Halfpennies, a calico bag and a piece of string. It was alleged he robbed another person after they left THE SHIP Inn at Inworth. Abraham, it is thought, was a farm worker.
His trial was held in the ESSEX ASSIZES,where his mother, named in the newspaper as Mary, gave evidence on his behalf.
I have not been able to trace his father.
I have leaned to Thomas and Sarah Braybrook being his parents, but because of lost Records etc.have not been able to prove this.
It is possible of course, that his mother, Mary, was not married.
Abraham arrived in Sydney, Australia in November 1834 and died in the Melbourne area in 1851.
Can anyone furnish any information or leads that may help me in this regard??
Thanking you in advance.
FRANK BRAYBROOK
