LOOKING FOR WILFRED MASSEY (ORIGINALLY FROM WEST BROMWICH/WEST MIDLANDS) - CAN YOU HELP???
IS THERE A WILFRED MASSEY IN YOUR NURSING HOME? OAP SHELTER? BINGO CLUB? IS WILFRED MASSEY YOUR GRAND-DAD OR UNCLE?
Wilfred was from West Bromwich / West Midlands area and will now be in his 70's. He spent time in Barnsley in 1949/50, when he met my grandma, DORIS HOLLAND (family name also Williams.) She was 16/17 when they met. They discovered she was pregnant and Wilf used to sing to her at the bus stop: "You can have her, I don't want her, she's too fat for me."
They were not allowed to marry, but when the daughter was born 29.03.50 he sent his friend to see Doris and wanted to call her Rebecca or name her after his sister. The baby was named MARY. Doris married shortly after the birth and became HRYCAK, then KEANE. Wilfred may be aware of these other marriages.
MARY has never met her dad, WILFRED MASSEY and time is running out. She would just like to speak to him - we realize he almost certainly has another family now who perhaps don't know about his first daughter.
IF YOU KNOW A WILFRED MASSEY IN HIS 70'S, WHO SPENT TIME IN BARNSLEY IN 1949/50 AND IS ORIGINALLY FROM WEST MIDLANDS please contact me: annmariemctigue@hotmail.com. Thank you
