Having discoverd that my father did not sie during WWII as I had alays been told I began searching for him 5 years ago.I have been successful at finding members of my family in England whom I have not been in contact with since 1945-- although I have discovered that my father died in 1983. I belive that I was illegally removed from England by my mother during my parents divorce proceedings and sent to the USA. Does anyone know how I can access 1945 divorce records or discover if there was a custody agreement between my parents? I have tried writing to the courts and recieve no reply. There divorce was granted at the Royal Court at Strand in 1946. My father had just returned from overseas duty in WWII and my mother was living near Billingshurst-- working at an American Air base. I lived in Wimbleton with my maternal grandmother.
