Am searching the East of London dock areas for family members named GLEED. Most of the GLEED men worked the docks before the second world war. Most were in the West Ham,Stratford,Ilford areas. Many came there from Stepney-Limehouse area. My Mother was Eleanor Gleed, Born Ilford to James Benjamin and Harriet GLEED. The Gleed family came to Stepney around 1800 and gradually moved east to Essex.The families were there from about1850 to 1930 and then left when the docks were destroyed. Would love to hear from anyone with information on this family.
