I am searching for ancestors and relatives of "Smith WHITEHEAD" son of James Whitehead. Smith was born 1848, I believe in Cheshire(N.E. Stockport) or Lancashire (Stalybridge area??). He married Elizabeth Hancock (daughter of George Hancock) at St. Paul's, Portwood Parish, Cheshire, on 12/29/1867. Elizabeth Hancock was born June 03, 1847 or 1848, her father George born 1818.
Smith & Elizabeth emigrated to US in 1872, his father James (occup. Weaver) and siblings remained in England. Smith(a coalminer) named his children: James, George, Joseph, Thomas, John, Benjamin and daughters were Alice and Margaret. Anyone who may have information on this family line please contact me.
