When 6th July comes around every year, do you remember a baby girl called Catharine, born in 1964 somewhere in Wigan? Wonder where she is? How she is? How she turned out?

Pretty well for the most part I think. Whoever said that life was a bowl of cherries was a pillock but, all in all, things have worked out well for me. I think of myself as being very lucky; I know I'm very happy. And I'd very much like you to know that I harbour no grudges, I don't think badly of you for what you chose to do or were convinced you had to do.

My adoptive family are a very warm, very loving bunch. My parents, little brother and myself are very close. In October, I'll read the lesson at his wedding. There's no such thing as the perfect family but I think I was exceptionally fortunate in the adoption "lottery"...

If it's enough for you to know that things turned out well, that's fine. If not, well I can't promise to pick up the threads or build a mother-daughter relationship from scratch, but my email address is right here. Feel free to use it or not - your choice.

And thanks...

Helena
