seeking information on my mothers family. She was given up shortly after birth and lived in a boarding school in London. Her name was changed to Ruth Ledley. Her mothers name was Edith Adelaide Mary Thornton. Her father was an actor named Leoni VonMentz. His brother was Samual Mence, and had a Mrs. Davis as a sister. School records state that he went to Canada with a traveling theatrical company in 1922. We have searched records in London, and elsewhere, cannot find a clue. Any information on the names Thornton; VonMentz; or Mence would or may be helpful.
