I have to admit, that I am a reject, I firmly belive that after making contact my Daughter (adopted) does not want to know me. I s there anyone that can explain, why, is there no curiosity, is it that she may think that I want something from her, in a monitary sense, emotional sense, please contact me, because I need you back as a baby sense. It is not any of these, cant she see that I want to know what has happened to her, I dont need to have direct contact with her. All I have wanted to do, is to tell her the circumstances of her adoption, just to tell her that I wanted to keep her, I was not allowed to keep her, just how sad is that, if you are a Mother today, that found yourself pregnant through whatever circumstances, you would be given the help to keep your baby, no one seems to be able to understand the environment of the 60's. you were not "allowed" to keep your child. To be honest I would like to ask a woman of today, 10 days after she had cared for the child that she had, to part with it. I truly wonder what the reaction would be.
We were Mothers that were never to be Mothers, the whole situation swept under the carpet and we were supposed to continue through life, as if it never happened, sorry it didnt turn out that way. Thousands of "us" are left with belive it or not guilt, maybe we should have fought harder, it sticks, it doesnt go away. So please, it probably hasnt worked out for me, what I would ask is that all you adopted people out there, give it a go, go through someone "safe" we are not asking that you give your home address but please if your Mum or Dad are looking for you, at least let them know one way or the other, dont keep them hoping as I am.
Lots of love to you all Adoptees and like me Birth Mums.
