Searching for birth mother Susan Clare Armitage born 1 april 1947 in Colchester,Essex to John William and Florence Kell Armitage(nee Gibson) at 126 North station rd. I was born 3 February 1966 and called Gavin Nicholas Armitage at 'Westacroft' at Norton near York. Handled by the York Adoption Society.Susans family moved to Middlesborough between '47 and '66 to 32 Gleneagles Rd, Saltersgill, Middlesborough.She was married 16 September 1967 to John Shanley at St.Oswalds Grove Hill,Middlesborough.His father was Thomas Shanley 0f 10 Embsay Close, Beechwood, Middlesborough.Had a son, Jonathon Lee Shanley 23 July '68.Now, my birth father was Jeffrey Lee Townsend of 128 West lane Middlesborough and apparently the split was amicable.I was called Timothy Richard Scott on adoption and now live in Australia(from '96).I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.If you know which local authority handled you adoption but have not asked for your records,do it,they may contain more than you think,as I found out.I've heard wonderful reports of Debby Wilson, do I just E-mail her ,I am not sure of the appropriate way to ask for help.
