Tracing Irene Hughes nee Mellor
My name is John Mellor born 29/1/53 Crumpsall Hospital Manchester, adopted at M/C Townhall 7/9/53. I am trying to trace my birth mother Irene Hughes nee Mellor born 9/2/34 Toxteth Liverpool. She sometimes used Elizabeth as her middle name. Height approx 4ft 10in to 5ft. Possibly a scar over her left eye. She was in the care of Dr Barnardos from 1937 to 1949 At the age of 32 she married George Hughes born 1924 (motor mechanic) at M/C registrar office Aug 11th 1966. Her last know address 11 Seaton St M/C 13. George Hughes last known address 105 Parkfield St M/C 14. Witness to the marraige was a Mary Bowcock. If both still alive Irene will be 66 years old and George will be 76 years old. Possible still living in the Manchester area . Does any of this jog anyones memory? Did you or anyone you know attend Dr Barnardos in M/C at the same time? Does anyone have any photos of Irene? Do I have any brothers or sisters,Any information re Irene or George gratefully received , I have never met her and I dont even have a photograph of my mother.
