Before 1927, Official adoption act came in, my father, born 1915, was "given away" to a MR and MRS LAST of 145 Canbury Park Road, Kingston-upon Thames, Surrey. Although his birth is registered in Hammersmith. London, his real mother apparently lived in the Sefton Park area of Liverpool.I wonder if anybody out there knows of the following people..EDITH MARY CARTER, nee RADCLIFF and CYRIL CARTER. These people are my paternal grandparents. Last known of, in EDITH'S case of living in the Sefton Park Area working as a Ladies Companion. In Cyril's case, unknown whereabouts, working as Commercial Traveller. Last known date, (Edith) is 1918. It is possible that they were not married,as my father was given away, 3 weeks after his birth in jan.1915. Apparently he also had a sister, about 15 years older than he, born around 1900. He only knew of her as Edith Mary, not knowing her last name..they never had contact., If anybody knows of these names, or has seen them on a gravestone perhaps around the Sefton Park Area graveyards, then please be so kind as to contact me. Your help in tracing these people will be greatly appreciated. We have been trying to trace these people since , well my father aws born in 1915. He died in 1996, still not knowing about his real parents. Many thanks, Phil Carter.
