were you or a relative a foster mother for the birmingham childrens department in 1946. Do you remember fostering a boy, only two weeks old in May of that year - he was called michael and his mother and her parents came by car and left him with you on their way home to birmingham from shrewsbury where he was born at the berrington hospital cross houses. he was later adopted through the birmingham childrens department. were you the child care officer who dealt with the case. the birth mother`s name was valerie dancyger and she had just turned 17 when michael was born. a few months later val`s father took her to the offices of the childrens department to sign the adoption papers. is there anyone out there who remembers these events in 1946 - if so please make contact - i am michaels birth mother and have been looking for over 50 years for some trace of him. In those days adoptions were closed so I have no infomation about his adoptive parents. Michael will be 55 this May - are you male and 55 on may 8 200l - were you born in the shrewsbury area - did your parents live in birmingham or the west midlands - if so contact me - I would so appeciate hearing from you.
