I am searching for my birth mother Janette Marjorie Bennet (married name Geoghegan)last known address 24 Carlton Avenue, South Croydon, Surrey, CR2 0BY. I was born on 4th March 1950 in Rochford, Essex. My mother was 17 and 9 months old and my birth father 19 years old at the time of my birth. My mother went to East Africa after my birth and returned to England in 1953. I have no other information about my birth father. My birth name was Mary Patricia Bennet. It was changed to Cheryl Mary Dowding. I was a few weeks old when I was adopted through Ilford County Court. In 1957 my adoptive parents took me to Vancouver, Canada where I lived for 37 years. I returned to the Northeast with my husband in 1994 who died in 1996. I have just very recently learnt that my birth mother wrote to the Adoption Registry on the 31 August 1984 in an attempt to find me. I also learnt that I have a half-sister who is aware of my existence as is her father. I would dearly love to find my birth mother and any other relatives and hope that they too still are wanting to find me. My mother would now be 68 years old and is disabled. I am now 51 years old and also disabled so would like to find out more of my mother's medical history.
