I had been searching for nearly 20 years,I found my birth mother when my son was 8 months old but had come up against a brick wall with trying to find my sisters. My son is 20 now and a father himself so I am a Grandma, and my daughter is 22 and due to have a baby in March but I had never really given up in my search, then purely by chance and a friend of a friend with a very good memory I found one of my sisters who had also been searching for me then as a last resort [as we did not know what to do next] I sent an e-mail to our local papers letters to the editor and they very kindly printed it,I was amazed at the response I got and have now found two more sisters,we have all met each other except for one who lives at the other end of the country, but she will be coming up to see us at Easter. We will never be as close as if we had been brought up together but it is just so nice to know each other,we all had good adoptive parents and have had decent upbringings so we have all been very lucky. I would just like to say to all of you who are searching DONT GIVE UP you never know what is around the corner and be prepared for anything, there is always a chance of rejection, luckily with us this has not been the case, and I wish you all a Happy Christmas and good luck with your searches,I am more than happy for anyone to contact me if they want any advice, bye for now,Sue
