I was adopted in 1947 in Nottingham. My birth name was Elizabeth Ann Bailey my Mother's name is Eileen Patricia Bailey. I did not find out that I was adopted until I was In my forties. I always suspected, but respected my parents wishes that I should not be told. My parents divorced when I was 14 years old, but I retained a loving relationship with them both. When my mother died in 1990 I made enquiries and obtained a copy of my birth certificate, which gave mine and mothers name no mention of my father.
I have two sons of whom I am very proud and two grandchildren. I would dearly love to know if I have any living birth family as I cannot tell my sons or grandchildren anything about my bloos family or my roots, and would dearly love to be able to.
I am sure there are many people in the situation who may have had some success in finding there family with so little information. My birth certificate is all I have as all records relating to my adoption were destroyed in a fire at the Shirehall in Nottingham.
