Adoptees & searchers:
I would just like to make a suggestion to you all, which may make the search process much easier.
There are two official contact registers in the UK for people who have been adopted and for those who are searching for adopted people. They are NORCAP and ONS (Office for National Statistics). They both charge to register with them, but if everybody was to do this, then we may be able to find our lost people so much easier and quicker. I am not acting as a promoter for these registers, I am merely trying to bring them to people's attention, as they are not widely known about. If anybody would like the addresses, they can be found on the web, or please email me and I will be happy to send them out. I don't want to do it here, as it may be seen as advertising!
