I am posting this message on behalf of MRS LYNN HAMILTON OF ERITH IN KENT her details are as follows:-
My TWIN BROTHER'S NAME WAS ANDREW POWELL
DATE OF BIRTH 15 OCTOBER 1945
TIME OF BIRTH 11.58 PM
PLACE OF BIRTH 25 USHER AVE, LINCOLN, LN6 7RR
Birth Mothers Name : MABEL POWELL
Fathers Name: only details are ARTHUR (next door neighbour)
Further information which may help us to find Andrew is as follows:
Mabel had 5 other children age at that time 15, 14, 11, 9 and 7.
Lynne has found these siblings and they lived, and some still do, in OLLERTON, NOTTS.
The twins Andrew and Ann Powell were placed for adoption in April 1946. The following details are from a paragraph in a letter dated May 1986 to Janice Lynn Hamilton (nee Ann Powell)and relates to her own circumstances it reads 'The child was placed for adoption in April 1946 and I rather think fostered until then from being 6 weeks old. This idea is based on rather vague detail. Unfortunately the files for natural parents before 1950 are no longer in existence.
It would be wonderful for this lady if anyone out there recognises anything about this story and in her own words 'it would make my life complete'.
