Adoption Agencies:
I guess I have been one of the lucky ones. True Westminster took for ever to undertake my search, in fact my emails were sent back for almost a year.
I rewrote again, and they accepted that email and after a couple of letters to the head of the Council I was given a social worker.
mrs J has treated me with the utmost kindness and respect. The mistakes in the file, and there are many, are mistakes that occurred 42 years ago. I call them mistakes, but in truth the dogooders at the agencies were notorious liars. I have copies of short notes that were sent to me at that time by them and have been assured that none of the letters they refer to in those notes were ever in the file, seems they had a group of standard answers which they used when they saw fit, irregardless of the truth. I have documents that were never signed by me, (no handwriting expert need apply LOL.)
Please, do not paint all the agencies and the social workers with the same brush, they are not all the same.
I am nearing the end of my search, and fear that I shall never know more than my daughter is alive and well.
