Are there any people involved in the adoption triad that are unhappy about the way the social services/post adoption agencies etc have dealt with their case/search? All of the horror stories need to be collated together and presented to the necessary departments to make them realise that everything is going wrong somewhere along the line. As a researcher I hear lots of people being given misleading information when they get "their file". Personally, I am an adoptive mother who is in contact with my son's natural mother and between us we are astonished by the misleading information given to both of us. Both of us have been given information that is not true. This scenario needs to be addressed and presented in full to the relevant authority.

I have been supporting a birthmother searching for her son for a year now and the agency in Bristol has just notified her that they have approached the wrong person - does she have to wait another year for them to amend/adjust their error?!!!!. This natural mum that I am supporting has and/is going through hell and WHY!!! We thought that Social Services and Post Adoption Societies know what they are doing but believe me this particular one for sure does not!! I have been acknowledged as a "Unique Person" by this particular Post Adoption Society when it comes to helping people but unless I am "recognised" I cannot be seen as to be relied upon to help people. My record for reuniting is very good and I don't want to take exams to become a "Social Worker/Counsellor" and have to be blinkered. I am doing OK as I am. Please, please, anyone who has a story to tell do contact me. I really want to help as does a lot of people like me - for example: Debby Wilson, Alan Collins, Julie Goldsmith, Lynda Greatbanks to name a few. We all are here for everyone's best interests and are not out to rip people off in their search.

God bless to all searchers and may all your dreams come true.
Joan
