Have been trying to find out something (anything!) about my grandfather for ages. His name was Maxwell James NAGEL. He was born in Stepney, London in about 1896 (or so he says - we have been unable to find a birth record for him anywhere in England between 1894-1903). His father was Frederick Nagel, boot-repairer, mother possibly Emma or Elizabeth Hood. In 1918 he married Elsie FORRESTER and they had 3 chiildren, Dora Elsie, Maxwell Edward and Albert Edgar. Elsie died in 1924 and Max and kids came to Australia. He married Margaret CLARKE in Malvern in December 1924. They had no children. Poor Margaret was killed in an accident in 1934. Max married my grandmother, Alma Kathleen McHenry (Babs) in 1938 and they had one daughter, my mum Rosemary. Max divorced Grandma in 1947 and nobody's heard of him since. Mum last saw him in 1941. We would love to know what happened to him and his children. Thanks.
