Searching for descendants of John Thomas Welch who lived in East Taphouse, Cornwall, England in the 1700's. According to family tradition, the family originated in Langsborg (?), Wales prior to Cornwall, England. The family settled in Sumter County, Sumter, South Carolina by 1770 and perhaps earlier in Charleston, South Carolina. It's likely this family links to John Knox, the Reformer. Any communication would be greatly appreciated.
