I have recently begun tracing my Paternal Grandmother's family tree - currently I have very limited information. The following is provided in the hopes that someone might be able to provide additional information or at least point me in the right direction:
Grandmother's Name: Edith R. Beardsell
Date of Birth: December 31, 1897
Place of Birth: Lee Side, England(?)
Mother's Maiden Name:Elizabeth Ann Rowbottom
Father's Name: Wallace Arthur Beardsell
Brother's Name: George Arthur Beardsell
we believe that before coming to the USA, the Beardsell family resided in Huddersfield, England (County of York)
Although I have been able to locate via this site a town known as Huddersfield, I am not sure that it is correct - as the county shown for this town is not County of York. Also, I have been unsuccessful in locating the town of Lee Side - perhaps both the town and the county have been either renamed or absorbed into another town/county. Any information, suggestions, etc. that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
