Can anyone help ?
I am searching for Frank and Hilda Threadgold who lived at various addresses in York Rd. Southend-on-Sea, Essex, in the 1950s
Also Penelope and Cynthia who were 7 and 12 years old in 1954 and lived with them as daughters but may have had a different surname.
Frank and Hilda were my foster parents prior to my being taken in to care with Barnardos and later adopted. Barnardos have been most uncooperative in this matter. Frank was a brick layer and a member of the Red Cross in Southend.
I believe that the Threadgolds may have originated in the Northwich Cheshire and Manchester areas and may have returned to Manchester in the late 1950s or after. Does anyone know of an area or road called "Bishop('s) Sans" which is not in the current A to Z (it may have been in Stretford), what would it now be called ?
Also does any one have any information about Peter Thomas Williams who was a "Wall of Death" rider at the Kursaal, Shouthend-on-Sea ?
Has anyone else out there had problems obtaining access to their adoption or pre-adoption records, or records of their time in care, from Barnardos UK, despite Barnardo's declared change in their policy on access to records and openness ? Please contact :- email@example.com or telephone / fax 020 7691 9668 Barnardo1s Policy and Practice Guidelines on adoptee's access to its records may be viewed at :-
Tanks for taking the time to read this, I would be most grateful for any help.
