I am looking for a Reverend John Gambrell who was born abt 1750 and was in Nansemond Parish in colonial Virginia; my husband's direct ancestor John Gambrell was in South Carolina by the revolutionary period and I believe he may have been the same man as the reverend in Virginia. There are many variations of the spelling of this name but GAMBRELL is the one I am looking for just now- if you know of ANY minister with a variation of this spelling at abt mid-18th c I would really appreciate the help.
