My father, Samuel Jones, was born in Dudley, England on October 20/1911 and his parents were Samuel Henry Jones and Charlotte Walker. He was one of eight children. His address at the time of his birth was #1 The Barracks, or Barricks, Stafford Street, Dudley. His siblings were Alice l903, Elsie 1905, John 1907, James 1909, Joseph 1914, George 1916 and an unnamed sister 1922. My father was in the Middlemore Home, St. Luke's Road, Birmingham along with his brother, Joseph. He may have been there around 1918 when he father died in 1918 of pneumonia. Later, Samuel, was moved to the Emmeline Winstanley Home, Knutsford(Church of England Waifs and Strays Society now called the Children's Society) in December 1923 and emigrated to the Gibbs Home in Sherbrooke, Quebec in May 1927. His brother, Joseph,emigrated to Canada around 1924. Any information anyone could provide about my family would be appreciated.
