Hi everyone:
I am trying to find out any information about my father, Samuel Jones, born in Dudley, England on October 20/1911. He was one of 8 siblings born to Samuel Henry Jones and Charlotte Walker. The siblings were Alice(1903), Elsie(1905), John (1907), James (1909), Joseph (1914), George (1916) and a girl-no name (1922). Their address from 1908 to 1922 was #1 The Barracks or Barricks, Stafford Street, Dudley, England. My father was in the Middlemore Orphanage and later in 1923 he went to the in the Emmeline Winstanley Home, Knutsford and emigrated to Canada in 1927. My uncle, Joseph, was in the Middlemore Home, Birmingham and emigrated to Halifax in 1924. My grandparents were both on the 1881 census. My grandfather was at that time l year old (address was 15 Stafford Street)(His parents are Samuel and Maria Jones (Wilkinson) and my grandmother was 3 months (address was 4 Mamble, Dudley)Her parents were Thomas and Ann Walker. I would like to find out when they were married, where they are buried, etc. I know my grandfather died on May 9/1918.
I would think my grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc are buried in the local community cemetary around Dudley. I would also like to find out if I have living relatives.
The Children's Society (formerly Church of England Waifs and Strays Society), sent me a three page summary of my father's life in England. They are still many missing pieces to my father's life in England.
