SHAW Looking for my roots! My grandfather was Hiram Shaw born August 1892.
He lived in Otley, Yorkshire. Parents were John Wilkinson Shaw and Sarah Shaw.
Sarah died in January 1899. Hiram had a brother, Joseph, and two sisters, Annie
and Elizabeth. Hiram was with Barnardo homes - went to their care July 27, 1904.
Sailed on the ss Dominion October 8, 1908. Came to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
His uncles were Alfred Holmes, Jesse and Henry. Aunts were Emma Selina Pickard, Ruth
Robinson, Jane Ann Hawkridge. All were from the Otley area and the men worked in
quarries.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
