I am searching for information on the currency used when the people from England removed to the New World in the 16 & 1700's. Does anyone know what a pound and a shilling equaled in dollars during that time period. This information hasn't been easy to find here. I have ancestors that removed to New England in the late 1600's and 1700's and the money they used was pounds and shillings. I would like to know how would convert to New world dollars. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
