My great grandfather was Percy Fowler.He was born at St Helens Kingsmartin Burmingham England.He was born about 1872. His parents were William Fowler and Mary ann Fowler nee Wright. he was an apprentice to the Lipton Tea chainstores. He was a grocer. He married Christina O'Sullivan. They came to NEW ZEALAND about 1910. They had 3 sons Fredrick James,Francis Henry,and Percy Leo. My grandfather was Francis Henry. He married Doris Amelia Yallop. They only had 1 daughter Audrey Beryl Fowler.Mums uncle Fredrick James died in the Flu Epidemic in 1919. I was told that The Fowlers were Yeoman Farmers in Rutlandshire Burmingham England.Mum told me there are records dating back as far as 1644. She also said that Rutlandshire was one of the smallest shires in England and Rutlandshire is probably now a suburb of Burmingham.If anyone can enlighten us more on The Fowler Family History or is connected to our branch we would be interested to hear from you
