My grandmother, Minna Tremper married Harry Solinger in New York. She was born in Hull, probably in the 1880s. The family came from Libau,Courland and she returned there. Emigrated to the US in 1890s. Her mother, my ggm, spoke English with a British accent, called a policeman a "bobby".
My grandfather, Harry Solinger was born in NYC, but family
rumor says that he and Minna were cousins and that the Solingers also had come from UK. Any clues as to where I can look up this info??
