Looking for descendants of Thomas Davis b. c1802 St.Pancras,Middlesex who married Ann Young Young b. c1803 St.Martins, Middlesex. They later lived at 7 Hart Street, St.George Hanover Square and on the 1841 census are listed:
Thomas Davis head 39 Carriage Lamp Maker
Ann wife 40
Emma 20
Thomas 20
Charles 17
Ann 15
William 13
Martha 11
Sarah 8
Eliza 5
The 1851 census reads:
Thomas Davis head 49 Lamp Maker born St.Pancras MDX
Ann Young wife 48 " St.Martins, MDX
Martha Dau 20 Dressmaker " St.Geo Mdx
Sarah " 16 Waistcoat maker " " "
Eliza " Scholar " " "
In the 1865 London Commercial Directory Thomas was still listed at 7 Hart Street, St.George Hanover Square as Carriage lamp Maker and William Davis was listed at 17 Wells Street W & 5 Castle Court, Oxford Street W also as Carriage Lamp Maker. Charles was my GG-Grandfather and was transported to VDL in 1842. At this stage I am sure Sarah followed him to Australia abt.1853 marrying an Evans Brown and living in Victoria. There is also a marriage in Hobart, Tasmania for an Eliza Davis 1860's to a Semple. A John Semple was Charles' business partner and their children's names are all similar to Charles', I still need to confirm that one. I would lke to hear from anyone connected to this family or who knows what happened to them.
Thanking you. Kind regards, Lisa Beaini (nee Davis)from Melbourne, Australia
