Seeking information on John BARNES bapt 1 June 1862, Old Swinford, Worcs. England also his brother Dudley BARNES born 14 July 1866, Birmingham, England.
The boys were sons of Henry John BARNES and Annie BARNES, nee MEREDITH.
Parents died of smallpox in November 1874. Other children Mary Matilda BARNES born 11 April 1859 came to New Zealand and was my husband's grandmother. Child Harry Deakin BARNES born 20 Dec. 1868 died Erdington Orphanage, Birmingham Jan 1876. Can find no further reference to John or Dudley BARNES in deaths, marriages or 1881 census. Were they compulsorily sent overseas? Adopted? Suggestions would be appreciated. Please e-mail me.
