I am looking for any information regarding my grandfather, William Thomas Thornton(born 9th. May 1920), who married Dorothy Blackmore(born 6th. Sept. 1921). Both lived in Widnes, Cheshire(formerly Lancashire).My grandfathers parents split up and he was placed in Nazareth House in Ditton, Widnes. His mother remarried, but we have no information about her or his father. We think that my grandfathers parents or grandparents owned a public house in Widnes called The Blackburn Arms and that the owners nickname was Cocky Griffiths.
