COOK family from Edmonton,Middlesex in 1870's. I am searching for the family of my gr.grandmother Alice Amelia COOK b. 05 Nov 1877 in Edmonton,England.Her brother was George Frederick COOK (b.15 Dec 1872) also in Edmonton, I believe. Their parents were George Frederick COOK & Rhoda JONES. Gr. grandmother Alice COOK m. John SAWYER (b.1875) on 23 Aug. 1896 at St. Paul's Bunhill Row, Finsbury.He was an apprentice cabinetmaker. His father was also named John Sawyer, and he was a cabinetmaker...their middle names were probably Frederick. My grandfather, John Frederick SAWYER (b.08 Sept 1896) at 4 Buttesland St. in Shoreditch, was a British Home Child sent to Ottawa, Canada 23 Apr. 1903 from Liverpool.Witnesses at his parents' m. were Helen Cook & Charles Gardinier. Alice Amelia Cook emigrated to Ontario,Canada abt 1905. She may have gone to her brother Geo. F. Cook who emigrated in 1880. and was m. in 1900 in Almonte,Lanark Co.,Ontario,Canada to Anna ILLINGWORTH.He was a baker and lived in Almonte until his death in 1932.
I am looking for the institution which sent my grandfather to Canada in 1903. Also looking for the families of his parents, the COOKS & SAWYERS. Any help greatly appreciated.
