Looking for any information about my Chapman family in Croydon, Surrey. My grandmother, Kathleen Flora Chapman, was born in Croydon on Nov. 11, 1895. Her parents were Arthur Chapman & Clara Ryder/Rider. Arthur was born in Croydon on Dec. 1, 1869 and Clara was born in Littlebury, Essex on July 7, 1870. Arthur's parents were Martin Henry Chapman and Sarah Longhurst. Martin Henry was born March 25, 1834 in Shoreham, Sussex. Sarah Longhurst was born April 18, 1832 in Wotton, Surrey. Both Martin Henry & Sarah are buried in Croydon, but I have no idea where. I am looking for where they are buried and who Martin Henry's parents were and if he had brothers and sisters. I am also looking for anyone with knowledge of St. James Churchyard Cemetery in Croydon. Sarah Longhursts parents are buried there and I am hopeful that I will be able to find some dates on their tombstone. Any help with this family would be very much appreciated.
