I have just begun a family tree and are looking for some English relatives or information about people with the last name SALT. My ggf's name was JAMES EDWARD SALT and was born in Manchester in 1893, he married Sophia Waterford IN AUSTRALIA and they settled in Victoria Australia. So he must have immigrated. I do know he had around 9 brothers who all died in the war and a sister called Nel, and that he was a labourer. If anyone has info I am eagerly awaiting it! Thanks
