My mother was a war time evacuee from Birmingham, her name was Audrey Peggy Bickerstaff. She was around 5 yrs old and went to stay with the Rowland Family in Langley Mill Derbyshire. She return home to Birmingham for a short time but came back and was adopted by the Rowland Family. The Rowlands would never tell her anything about her life in Birmingham so she must have had it tough. She thinks she can remember having brothers and sisters but cannot be sure.
If anyone can remember her or know of a family called Bickerstaff could they please contact me.
