I am searching for more information on my GG-grandfather John Greenwood born in Liverpool. He was married twice. No one in my family knows his first wife's name, but his second wife was Sarah French. Family story goes Sarah was the nanny for John's and his first wife's children. When John's wife passed away, he decided to emigrate to America. He wanted the nanny to go with him and care for his children, but she refused to. Because it was unthinkable at that time for an unmarried woman to travel with an unmarried man. So John Married Sarah French so she could go to America with him and care for his children. Any information on John, his first wife, or Sarah French (the nanny) would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows of ascendants or descendants of John Greenwood please email me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
