JAMES PLOW was my great-grandfather, born in North Shields, Northumberland around 1863. It is said that he arrived in Australia in 1883, after working as a shipwright on the "Marquita". He married my great-grandmother Margaret Josephine Connors on 2.2.1888, they both went to live in the goldfields at Croydon, North Queensland and had three children, Mary Ann (my grandmother), Rosabelle and Henry James. James Plow re-married Margaret Smith-McDonald on 1.12.1913, following the death of Margaret Josephine in 1910. He died on 20.5.1922 in Charters Towers. Does anyone have any information on the surname PLOW? Any leads at all would be greatly appreciated.
