I am the daughter of David Wilfrid Shaw. My father was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His parents were Elizabeth Wooger and David Shaw and to the best of my knowledge they were both born in Croydon, England. My grandfather was born in 1886. The year that they came to Canada is not too clear. They had seven children but only Elsie and Ruby were born in England. Edward, Helen, Violet, David, and Edith were all born here in Hamilton. There are conflicting stories about them first coming to Ottawa, Ontario and then returning back to England and then once again returning but this time to Hamilton, Ontario.
My father was born on March 28, 1917. Although my details are vague, I am hopeful that someone will help me to start my search. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
