I am trying to establish a possible connection between SARAH ELLEN DAVIS. born 1860. Walsall. Stafford.
And.
RICHARD ALBERT DAVIS age 40. married to AGNES DOWEY at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newcastle upon Tyne. January 1915.
Sarah Ellen Davis married William Henry Perry in Walsall in 1878, [GRO] address 175 Sandwell Street, Walsall Stafford. [1881 census]
In 1876 a birth certificate was issued for a Richard Albert Davis Born in April 1876, place of birth 175 Sandwell Street, Walsall Stafford. [As above] on the birth certificate is the name of father John Davis Iron moulder. Mother Eliza Davis nee Willitts
Also on the birth certificate under the heading [Signature-Descriptionand residence of informant] is the name Sarah Ellen Davis.Sister present at the birth, address 175 Sandwell Street Walsall. Dated 15-may-1876. [Same as above]
The death of Richard Albert Davis at 0 years old is recorded in the April May June Quarter 1876 Walsall. [GRO]
No record of the father John Davis Iron molder. Or the Mother Eliza at 175 Sandwell Street Walsall. In the 1881 census.
There is a John Davis iron molder and his wife Eliza Davis. address Darlaston Stafford. They have 2 sons John 13 years old, and George 10 years old. [1881 census]
Richard Albert Davis [my Father] would never talk about his early life,
nor would he have his photo taken. As my Father and my mother were married in a Catholic Church, it is almost certain that a birth Certificate would have been required, yet there are no records of a Birth Certificate other than the one noted above.
There is a possibility the one of the sons of John and Eliza Davis,
possible the youngest was in some sort of trouble and used his deceased brother's birth certificate as proof of identity to makea new life for himself, this could have happened at any time between 1881 and 1915.
There are no other Richard Albert Davis's in the births GRO or the 1881 Census that comes within 5 years of the correct age, other than the one above, the brother? of Sarah Ellen Perry nee Davis.
I await in expectation that has information that may help me.
