GALLANT my great grandparents were Polly (Mary Ann?) and John Gallant. Polly's maiden name was Cubitt (may have been spelt somehow with a Qu). She was born in the 1840's and had about 20 children. They were Norfolk people, and lived, I think in Gorlaston-on-Sea. I think Polly died in Martham in about 1930 when she was 90/92. About 7 survived to adulthood, some names I can tell you - Edith(the oldest?), Sam, Laura, the two youngest were Blanche and Billy (I think there was also a boy named Oswald who drownd in the mill pond). Laura emigrated to Canada and married a man named something like Myatt,Mynett? they lived in Alberta and there family were still there in the 1950's - there was a boy named Dwayn. My grandmother was Blanche, she married Richard Woods and had four children, Hilda Mary, John, Alice Blanche and my mother Vera Laura. Blanche later married Billy Goldthorpe. I have a very early photograph of Polly and John, it must be well over 100 years old.
